Version 1.6 Of Tahoe-LAFS Distributed Data Store
The Tahoe-LAFS team have released version 1.6 of their Tahoe-LAFS distributed data store.
Tahoe-LAFS offers provider-independent security, which means the cloud service provider must gain user consent to access and alter data stored on the cloud. It also spreads the user’s filesystem across multiple servers.
Version 1.6 introduces cryptographically unalterable, permanent snapshots. The webapi has also acquired a new command for creating and populating a directory in a single call; and the tracebacks produced by errors in CLI tools should now be in plain text which is readable outside of the browser. Full details are available at the Release Notes.
Version 1.6 is fully compatible with the version 1 series of Tahoe-LAFS, which will continue to be actively supported and maintained for the foreseeable future.
Tahoe-LAFS is released under the GNU General Public License.
