Cloud application infrastructure offering a choice of Oracle Solaris and Oracle Linux operating system software.
At Oracle OpenWorld 2010, Oracle unveiled Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud.
This product, is an integrated hardware and software system for both Java and non-Java applications. It provides a cloud application infrastructure, and combines 64-bit x86 processors, an InfiniBand-based I/O fabric, Oracle WebLogic Server and a choice of Oracle Solaris or Oracle Linux operating system software.
The product’s GridLink for Exadata feature allows for database integration, and promises JDBC connection failover and transaction affinity between Oracle WebLogic Server running on Exalogic and Oracle Real Application Clusters running on an Oracle Exadata Database Machine.
“Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud is a complete system of servers, network, storage, VM, operating system and middleware, all engineered to work together,” said Oracle CEO Larry Ellison. “This delivers stunning results, including the fastest Java performance, elastic capacity on demand and a completely fault tolerant system.”
