New Perforce Plugin For Eclipse
Perforce have released a new Eclipse plugin for their Software Configuration Management (SCM) system.
The Perforce plugin for Eclipse and WebSphere Studio (P4WSAD) ships with version 2009.2 of the Perforce Server. With P4WSAD, you can access Perforce from within the Eclipse IDE and the Rational/WebSphere Studio WorkBench family of products.
P4WSAD provides views for pending changelists, submitted changelists, and revision histories. These views can be synchronised to display incoming, outgoing, and conflicting changes. It is integrated with the Perforce Visual Client tools, Time-lapse View, Revision Graph, and P4Merg. New with version 2009.2 are a a full Eclipse-based Time-lapse View (TLV) displaying the detailed change history of text files stored in the depot, and support for the new shelving server feature. This so-called ‘shelving’ feature enables work-in-progress files to be stored (or ‘shelved’) in the server without submitting them. Others users then access these shelved files. Please see the Release Notes for full details.
Perforce pricing is all-inclusive. End-user licenses for the complete Perforce Server solution start at $900 per seat.
