New Decentralised Datastore Riak

Basho Technologies have released version 0.8 of decentralised datastore Riak.

Riak combines a a decentralized key-value store, a flexible map/reduce engine, and a HTTP/JSON query interface to provide a database geared towards Web applications. Riak’s primary programming interface is JSON over (RESTful) HTTP.

Riak 0.8 is the first release of Riak with full support for map/reduce processing exposed entirely via a HTTP/JavaScript interface. It also includes updated handoff/rebalancing performance, and a new ‘handoff_concurrency’ configuration parameter for controlling how many vnodes per host can engage in a simultaneous handoff.

Please see the Release Notes for more information. Riak 0.8 can be downloaded from bitbucket.
