Not making it over to the JavaOne? No problem – you can still catch all the essentials online by watching the JavaOne keynotes. These are the livestreams Java programmers will want to watch, and where to watch them.

Thousands of Java developers are currently en route to San Francisco for this year’s JavaOne and OpenWorld conferences. Attracting an estimated 60,000 attendees, the conference kicks off Sunday, October 25th and runs until October 29th.

Those that haven’t grabbed a $75 JavaOne keynote ticket or a $2,050 full-conference ticket (not including the OpenWorld) can still get access to on demand videos.Update: Watch the JavaOne Keynotes here.

JavaOne keynotes to watch

Following news of Java evangelists being sacked and growing rumours of Oracle’s conscious neglect of Java, all eyes in the community will be on JavaOne keynotes looking for Oracle to relight the beacons of innovation in Java. If you only get time for three, these are the ones you’ll want to be watching.

Watch: The Java Keynote
Sunday, Oct. 25, 13:45 (21:45 GMT)

This is the main Java keynote where we can expect to find plenty of announcements, superlatives and a 20th anniversary retrospective.

Starring Java leaders like Chief Architect Mark Reinhold and Oracle’s VP of Development Georges Saab, this keynote will “showcase how Java is driving developer innovation, revolutionizing application development, and improving application services for the Internet of Things, enterprise architectures, and cloud computing.”

Java Community Keynote
Thursday, Oct. 29, 12:15 (20:15 GMT)

“Cask-strength Java, aged 20 years” – Java’s global community has grown with the help of 315 user groups, who will be the focus of this retrospective keynote. This will be one keynote to break out your finest whiskey for as as Java CTO John Duimovich and Java Community Manager Stephen Chin get nostalgic with and raise a glass to the past 20 years of Java and its community luminaries. Bring tissues.

Meanwhile at the OpenWorld
Monday, Oct. 26, 09:00 (17:00 GMT)

Once again, the JavaOne Conference will take place alongside the Oracle OpenWorld. Sadly, home viewers won’t get a livestream of the private access performance of Elton John and Beck at the OpenWorld conference.

But we can already watch OpenWorld keynote videos of C-level management showcasing Oracle’s cloud-computing achievements as if Oracle had always been pushing the cloud trend. From Sunday through Wednesday, Oracle bigwigs Larry Ellison, Thomas Kurian and Mark Hurd will be taking the stage to speak about cloud innovation. Oracle CEO Mark Hurd’s Monday morning keynote on the future of cloud and the enterprise will be one to watch.

For a more extensive list of keynotes and talks, check out the conference agenda and keynote overview. And don’t forget to follow the live responses from the community with the #javaone hashtag.

We’ll update right here with direct video links as soon as they are live.
