General Motors/Google Partnership

Will We Be Using Android to Start our Cars?

Motor Trend websites posts article claiming Google and General Motors are currently in negotiations.

According to Motor Trend, General Motors are negotiating with Google to develop in-car telematics based on the Android operating system.

In an article published on the Motor Trend website, they claim that the Android technology could allow General Motor vehicle owners to open, start and/or adjust their vehicles, and that Android would use its own GPS map navigation.

However, if Motor Trend is to be believed, we’re not going to see this new technology anytime soon: they’re not expecting confirmation of a General Motor/Google partnership, until 2011.
