Welcome Julia v1.0!
Julia first entered the TIOBE top 50 programming languages in September 2016, and since then it has seen some growth and dips. Hitting its all-time high at number 37 in March 2018, it’s current rank for August 2018 edges itself into the charts at number 50.
This underdog of programming languages has some tricks up its sleeve and we expect to see a wider adoption of it with the release of v1.0.
Take a look at what Julia is capable of, and what the highly anticipated new release includes here.
GraalVM 1.0-rc5 is here!
Things are shaping up nicely; GraalVM 1.0-rc5 marks a milestone for the project as it provides pre-built binaries for GraalVM CE on macOS.

Android 9 Pie is a delicious slice of AI-powered computing
We grab a slice of the popular mobile operating system for a quick taste test. What can developers expect from Android Pie? A smarter, simpler UI experience powered by AI.
Most of the new features aren’t a surprise – we covered them earlier this year with our Android P coverage. However, some of those headline features are missing and won’t be generally available until the fall.
That said, what we’re really interested in is the tech under the hood, so grab a fork and dig right in here.
JAX Magazine is out!

This issue depicts Java’s new journey but it’s not (just) an ode to this 23-year-old programing language; if you’re a DevOps aficionado or expert, you’ll surely enjoy the second part.
