Password Security Update
Apache Derby version 10.6.1.0 is now available.
Apache Derby is a Java relational database engine that conforms to the ISO/ANSI SQL and JDBC standards.
This release introduces named generators for allocating successive, evenly spaced numbers, and functionality to limit the columns and rows returned by table functions. There is a new command for listing stored functions, and case-insensitive strings, which gives developers the option to ignore case in string comparisons and sorts.
Derby 10.6.1.0 also fixes a security flaw that made it easier to decipher passwords managed by Derby’s BUILTIN authentication logic.
It can be downloaded now.
