Palm Competition

New Website for Hot Apps Comp

Mobile company Palm have launched a new microsite to act as a leader board for their Hot Apps promotion.

Pam Hot Apps shows which apps are winning the Hot Apps race, and which apps might knock them off the top spot in the future.

The competition will reward the most-downloaded free webOS apps and paid webOS apps with a cash prize. The top prize is $100,000, with runners up being awarded $10,000 and $1,000 each. However, now JavaScript developers taking part in the competition can now earn a bonus with only $500 in sales for a paid app, or 12,000 downloads for a free app.

To be in with a chance of winning, apps must be available to webOS users via an official Palm distribution, and must have been developed using either the Palm webOS Software Development Kit or the Ares Integrated Development Environment.

This competition ends June 30, 2010.
