New RESTful Search Engine for the Cloud

Jessica Thornsby

ElasticSearch is a new RESTful Search Engine built for the cloud.

The open source project automatically detects numbers and dates and treats them accordingly, and indexes data using a unique identifier. The current version is 0.7.1, which introduces the recovery throttling feature. Recovery throttling allows a controlled number of concurrent recovery operations, and concurrent stream recovery operation, in an effort to reduce the load on the nodes.

It fixes a bug when indexing large documents, which resulted in ElasticSearch storing additional null bytes.
