New Eclipse BPMS Project Proposed
Stardust has been proposed Business Process project at Eclipse.
‘Stardust‘ has been proposed as a new Eclipse project under the Service Oriented Architecture Top-Level Project. The project will consist of a Business Process Management Suite (BPMS) covering the breadth of the Business Process Lifecycle, including modeling, simulation, monitoring and execution. The initial contribution will come from SunGard, and their current version of their Infinity Process Platform (IPP) BPMS. This contribution will consist of a Runtime Environment, including a Process Engine and browser-based End User Process Portal; interfaces to external systems; a business process modeling environment; and the Process Workbench integrated process modeling and development environment. The Process Workbench is based on the Eclipse Modeling Project/Graphical Modeling Project, provides an Eclipse Look and Feel, and is OSGi enabled by design. Functionality for monitoring and analysing process and related data is based on the BIRT tool.
The current Stardust architecture can be seen below:
The initial contribution based on version 6.0 of the SunGard product, is expected in June 2011.
