NetBeans IDE 7.0 Beta 2 Released With Git Support
PLUS, Grails 1.3.7 released and Seam Social module launched.
Grails 1.3.7 Released – Bundled with Groovy 1.7.8
Grails version 1.3.7 has been released with Groovy 1.7.8 and functionality for masking request parameters from stacktrace logs. The build has also been upgraded to use Gradle 0.9 and caching is available for GrailsViewResolver when GSP reloading is enabled in production. More information is available at the Release Notes.
NetBeans IDE 7.0 Beta 2 With Git Support
The second beta for NetBeans IDE 7.0 has been released, with a preview of Git support included as a plugin. The final version of the NetBeans IDE 7.0 is planned for April 2011 and will feature language support for development to the Java SE 7 specification, and support for GlassFish version 3.1 and Maven 3.
Bamboo 3.0 With Artifact Sharing Support
Atlassian have released version 3.0 of the Bamboo continuous integration server. The 3.0 release allows artifacts produced from a Job to be shared with other Jobs in the same Plan. Artifact sharing for Maven 2 is also supported, although this is only in beta. Git support has been added and changes have been made to the user interface, including layout changes, redesigned controls, and a “more neutral” colour scheme. The Bamboo 3.0 upgrade is free for all customers with active Bamboo software maintenance.
Seam Gets Social!
The ‘Seam Social’ module for managing connections to social networks, has been launched on Github. Seam Social will provide CDI Beans and extensions, including OAuth connectors. It is possible to port Seam Social between Java EE 6 and Servlet environments enhanced with CD.
First RC for Spring Security 3.1
The first release candidate for Spring Security 3.1 has been announced. This RC adds support for CommonsHttp HttpRequestInvoker and support for disabling UI security. For a full list of the changes, please see the Changelog.
Spring Data Key Value 1.0 M2 Released
The second milestone of Spring Data Key Value 1.0, with support for Redis and Riak, has been announced. This release adds support for Pubsub and Redis 2.2, and JSON and Spring Object/XML mapping serialisers. It has also upgraded to Jedis version 1.5.2, and the documentation has been improved. Matthias Wessendorf Moves to Kaazing
Following the announcement that he will be leaving Oracle this month, Matthias Wessendorf has revealed that his new position will be at Kaazing, where he will be working on HMTL5 and WebSocket. “I am really excited about it and I am looking forward to start my new adventure there!” he says.
Spring Python 1.2.0 is Final
Spring Python 1.2.0 is Final. This project aims to take the concepts implemented by the Spring Framework and apply them to Python, and 1.2.0 supports Pyro 4 and Secure XML-RPC connections. This release also features improved API for SQL insert operations.
Apache Tikka 0.9 Fixes Critical Bugs
Version 0.9 of the Apache Tikka toolkit for detecting and extracting metadata, has been released. This release features a “critical” fix for a bug which previously prevented metadata from printing to the command line when the underlying Parser didn’t generate XHTML output. This release also fixes a critical backwards incompatible bug in PDF parsing, and improves the MIME detection for iWork, and OpenXML documents. Please see the Changes file for more information.
