Former Sun CEO Jonathan Schwartz Launches ‘Informed Biometry’ Company

Former Sun CEO Jonathan Schwartz has launched a new company, ‘Informed Biometry.’ He is joined by former development manager at Microsoft and co-founder of Jackson Fish Market, Walter Smith, who will serve as Informed Biometry’s CTO.

Although details of the company are still unclear, at an online job advert for Informed Biometry, the company describes itself as making “consumer web services that scale with success.” The website manifesto reads “Most places on Earth, the internet is more accessible than electricity, clean water, or basic sanitation. That’s an amazing proliferation, and an outstanding opportunity to apply simple technologies to some of the world’s most pressing problems. We’re setting out to do exactly that, focusing on the intersection of innovation and public health.”

The company is currently looking to employ “software generalists” and a design director.
