First Release Candidate for Seam 3.0 Announced

Seam 3.0 CR1 Brings Module Documentation Together

The first release candidate of Seam 3.0 has been announced, comprising of a list of Seam modules, including Seam Catch, Seam Wicket and Seam Solder. The Seam team have worked to bring all modules in line with the established module standards, for the Seam 3.0 CR1 release. The API documentation and reference documentation has also been consolidated into a single document, as oppose to a separate document for each included module, and the source code has been included in a single, exploded directory structure. The next release will be CR2, which will add Seam Forge. Forge allows users to interact with the project via plugins written using CDI.

Gradle 1.0 M1 With New JUnit Test Report

The first milestone of Gradle 1.0 has been released. This milestone adds a new ‘application’ plugin that takes charge of bundling the main-method application into a distribution, and provides tasks for running the application directly from the build. The JUnit test report has been reworked, and build scripts are now executed using Ant 1.8.2 and Groovy version 1.7.8. Please note that Gradle 1.0 Milestone 1 contains some breaking changes regarding the Eclipse and IDEA plugins.

Bug Fixes for Rails 3.0.5

Version 3.0.5 of Rails has been released with new tests and a list of bug fixes, including fixes for broken links and AM tests. A full list of the fixes, is available at the Rails GitHub.

ZooKeeper-Based Noah Application Registry Launched

Noah is a new Apache ZooKeeper-based application registry, which attempts to port the ZooKeeper concepts into a stateless RESTful application. Noah will offer support for horizontal scaling, and RESTful interaction for operations where REST maps properly. It will also support the basic concepts of hosts, services, applications and configurations, and will minimise the external requirements to maximise the possible installation options.

Bug Fixes for Scalate 1.4.1 Template Engine

Version 1.4.1 of the Scalate template engine has been announced. Scalate 1.4.1 is based on Scala 2.8.1 and is primarily a bug fix release. It adds a scala-library dependency to scalate-util, although users can choose to exclude this dependency due to different Scala versions. A scalate-web dependency has also been added, and the Spring MVC integration has been updated so that the contentType works.

Third Milestone for Spring Data Graph 1.0

The Spring Data Graph 1.0 project with Neo4j support has released a third milestone. Spring Data Graph 1.0.0.M3 upgrades to Neo4j-1.3.M03 and AspectJ 1.6.11.M2, and adds bean validation support for property changes and support for external transaction manager. A full featured Neo4jTemplate has also been added.

POJO-Based Atmosphere Framework Version 0.7

Version 0.7 of the Atmosphere POJO based framework, has been released. In this release, the Atmosphere-GWT project is now fully integrated into Atmosphere. Atmosphere-GWT implements a JavaScript webbrowser client build in GWT, and a server component build on top of Atmosphere. This new integration gives users the option of adding support for WebSocket/Comet to GWT applications. Atmosphere 0.7 users can also broadcast Callable, and the Atmosphere JQuery Plugin can be configured to use an external WebSocket implementation. Atmosphere version 0.8 is currently scheduled for release “before the summer,” and will feature support for Socket.IO, Cometd 2.2.x and Google App Engine channel support.
