Deno is a secure JavaScript and TypeScript runtime based on the V8 JavaScript engine and Rust, created by Ryan Dahl. Is it the newest solution? And is it better than Node.js? This International JavaScript Conference session by Krzysztof Piechowicz goes over what Deno fixes in Node.js and how its core features compare.

Deno is a new runtime for Javascript and Typescript created by Ryan Dahl – the original creator of Node.js. In his famous talk “10 Things I Regret About Node.js” given in 2018 he listed some of the Node.js design mistakes. Deno is supposed to fix these problems. Through this talk, Krzysztof Piechowicz will show you the core features of Deno and compare it with Node.js, using code examples. Afterwards, he will answer the talk title question together with the attendees.
