ZFS creator Jeff Bonwick, has announced that he is leaving his position as an Oracle Vice President.

He praises the Solaris team and Oracle's market reach, and is optimistic about the future of Solaris and ZFS Storage under Oracle. Looking to the future, he reveals that he has joined a startup, after finding an opportunity he can't resist. He does not go into any details regarding the startup.
His last day at Oracle will be Thursday, September 30, 2010.
