WS-I To Transition to OASIS

The Web Services Interoperability Organisation (WS-I) has announced it will transition its assets, operations, and mission into a Member Section of the Organisation for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS.)

The reason, is that WS-I perceives that it has achieved its original goals, and can see a “convergence in the missions” of OASIS and WS-I. WS-I is an open industry organisation that aims to establish and document Best Practices for Web services interoperability, while OASIS is an international consortium that develops open standards, including some that are used in WS-I Profiles.

The transition is expected to take place over the next few months.
