The Project category features two awards: the 'Most Innovative New Feature or Eclipse Project' award, also known as the 'Shiny New Toy Award' which looks to recognise a new feature added to an existing Eclipse project introduced in 2009; and the 'Most Open Project' award.

The Individual award is presented to the Top Committer, Top Contributer and Top Newcomer Evangelist.
