Version 2.0 of Twist Collaborative Functional Testing Platform

ThoughtWorks Studios have released version 2.0 of its collaborative functional testing platform, Twist.

Twist provides a framework for test automation and test-driven development. It uses Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Domain Specific Language (DSL) to facilitate collaboration between test automation specialists, developers and business analysts. It also uses plain English to build test scripts.

“It’s very common for people involved in software testing to spend more time trying to keep their automated tests in synch with development rather than actually testing applications,” said Cyndi Mitchell, the managing director of ThoughtWorks Studios. Twist 2.0 is geared towards accelerating the release cycles of quality applications.

Version 2.0 introduces a Hybrid Test Execution for running manual and automated test steps within the same scenario. It supports both Sahi and Selenium for Web testing; Groovy and SWTBOT are also both supported.

An annual subscription for one person, is priced at £1500. A free trial is available from the ThoughtWorks Studios website.
