But, Tim Ellison insists it’s too early to send Harmony to the Attic.

Tim Ellison has announced that he will step down as Chair of the
Harmony PMC, citing the reason as the “current reduction in
participation” in the Harmony project. This decrease follows the
licensing dispute with Oracle, where it became clear Harmony would
not receive the Java test licenses.

What this means for the future of the Harmony project, and
Android – which uses a subset of Harmony for the core of its Class
Library – remains to be seen. At the announcement Ellison said it
was “too early” to move Harmony to the Apache Attic, and that the
project will be looking for a new Chair.
