Spring Roo

Third Milestone of Spring Roo 1.1.0 With Incremental Database Reverse Engineering

Jessica Thornsby

Spring Roo 1.1.0.M3 extends integration with Google Web Toolkit 2.1.0.M3.

The third milestone of Spring Roo 1.1.0 is now
available.

New in this release, is incremental database reverse
engineering, which means it is now possible to introspect an
existing relational database and emit a series of JPA entities. All
domain objects produced by Spring Roo 1.1.0 M3 will include
automatic JSON-related methods, allowing users to bidirectionally
convert between a JSON representation and an object. Content from
16 social media web sites can be added to a Spring MVC-based front
end with a single Roo 1.1.0 M3 command. Supported social media
sites, include YouTube, Google Maps and Twitter.

The integration with Google Web Toolkit (GWT,) means that Spring
Roo 1.1.0 produces applications that use the newest features in GWT
2.1.0.M3, including relationship support under the RequestFactory
infrastructure.
