SVG Web JavaScript Library releases ‘Owlephant’

SVG JavaScript Library introduces support for animating path segments.

A new release of SVG Web, codenamed ‘Owlephant‘ is out now.

SVG Web is a JavaScript library which brings SVG support to browsers, including Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer. SVG content can be embedded directly into HTML 5 or through the OBJECT tag. If SVG support is already in the browser, SVG Web can override this and provide the support instead.

With this ‘Owlephant’ release, the team report they score 55.45% on the SVG compatibility charts. It also introduces support for animating path segments and scripting SMIL with JavaScript. Exponents in path values are also supported.
