Subversion Becomes Apache Top Level Project

Subversion has graduated out of the Apache incubation, just three months after being donated to Apache by application lifecycle management software provider Collabnet.

As a top-level project of the Apache Software Foundation, the Subversion community are now in charge of their own governance.

Subversion is an open source version control system. The last release was Subversion 1.6.9 in Januargy 2010.

Earlier this month, jaxenter reported that Apache's noSQL-style data store Cassandra had been announced as a top-level project.
