Spring AMQP 1.0 for Java Goes GA!

The first GA release of Spring
has been announced. This project applies Spring concepts
to the development of AMQP-based messaging solutions, providing
support for Message-driven POJOs, and a template as a high-level
abstraction for sending and receiving messages. More information on

New Releases of Virgo and Gemini Web

Virgo 3.0 has been released. In this release, the
integration with EclipseRT technologies has been improved, through
the creation of a Jetty variant of the Virgo web server. Version
3.0 also switches from Felix, to Equinox implementations of some
OSGi services. More information on the 3.0 release is available at
the Release Notes. Virgo 3.5 will focus on integration with p2.

A new release of Gemini Web has also been made available.
Gemini Web 2.0 passes the OSGi Web Applications
compliance tests, and will now replace SpringSource OSGi Web
Container as the OSGi Web App reference implementation. Gemini Web
also upgrades to Tomcat version 7.0.12, and adds support for the
latest JavaServer Pages, Java Servlet, and Expression Language

Java SE 6 Update Adds Firefox 5

A new update of Java SE 6 has been released. Java SE 6 update 27 adds certification for
Firefox 5, and a new property for SunMSCAPI provider. Java SE 6u27
does not add fixes for security vulnerabilities, meaning that Java
SE 6u26 users do not need to upgrade to 6u27 to be up to date on
security fixes. A full list of the bug fixes, is available from

Play Framework 1.2.3 Released

A new release of the Play framework is available. Version 1.2.3 adds the OnApplicationStop
annotation, and allows the Play configuration to read environment
variables. The documentation has also been updated with a how-to
for writing checks, and a description of support/directory tools
for Eclipse, vim and Textmate.
