Skype Release 'Headless' SkypeKit

Skype have released SkypeKit, a collection of APIs and software for enabling Internet-connected devices and applications to offer Skype voice and video calls.

“Think of SkypeKit as a "headless" version of Skype--that is, it runs invisibly with no user display. That way, developers are free to surface and deliver Skype functionality through their own products' interfaces,” reads the website.

SkypeKit is currently in beta with a limited number of beta partners. Developers can request an invitation to the SkypeKit Beta Program from the SkypeKit website.
