Second Alpha of Seam JCR 3.0.0 Released

The second alpha of Seam JCR 3.0.0 is out now. Seam JCR 3.0.0.Alpha2 features support for a different workspace, alongside support for Credentials. Passing a map with JCR configuration for repository initialization is also supported. Seam JCR is a portable extension for CDI to a Java Content Repository 2.0 compliant implementation. It has currently been tested against JBoss Modeshape and Apache Jackrabbit.

The Seam JCR extension can be downloaded from github.

 

Bug Fixes for GlassFish 3.1.1 RC2

Hot on the heels of the first release candidate, GlassFish 3.1.1 RC2 has been released. Eleven bugs have been fixed in this release, and according to the announcement this could be the last build for this release of GlassFish.

 

Updates for Checker Java Framework

A new version of the Checker Framework has been released. This framework enhances Java's type system to allow software developers to detect and prevent errors in their Java programs. Users can also write their own compiler plug-ins. The new version 1.1.5 provides unit constants, instead of conversion routines, with which to multiply unqualified values. The multiplication gets optimised away by the compiler. The framework also ensures that the switch statement expression is a supertype of all the case expressions. The Checker Framework now outputs error messages, instead of raising exceptions, which required the developers to introduce method "initChecker" in class SourceChecker.

 

Fixes for Redis 2.2.12

Version 2.2.12 of the Redis open source key-value store, has been released. Redis 2.2.12 introduces fixes related to blocking operations on lists when mixed with AOF and Replication, and fixes back interactions between EXPIRE, EXPIREAT, and in general volatile keys when AOF is enabled. The Slowlog feature has also been backported to Redis 2.2.

 

Java Comes to OS X Lion

A download of Java for OS X Lion, is now available to download. Mac OS X Lion is the new release of Apple's Mac OS X desktop and server OS. Java for OS X Lion installs Java SE 6 version 1.6.0_26. Please note that OS X Lion does not provide a Java runtime by default.
