After withholding its verdict for months, Russia's anti-monopoly regulator (FAS) has now announced that it approves of the Sun/Oracle merger: under one condition.

Oracle must continue to develop MySQL under the generally accessible license for at least the next four years.

The Sun/Oracle merger was finalised on January 27th, 2010.
