Object-Relational DBMS

PostgreSQL 9.0 Arrives

Jessica Thornsby

PostgreSQL 9.0 gets built-in replication based on log shipping.

PostgreSQL 9.0 is out now.

PostgreSQL is an open source Object-Relational DBMS. With the
9.0 release, PostgreSQL adds built-in replication based on log
shipping, and a mass permission-changing facility. Large objects
now support permissions management as well, and support for
anonymous code blocks has been added. There are new trigger
features, such as SQL-standard-compliant per-column triggers and
conditional trigger execution, and security updates including
RADIUS authentication and a new contrib module for testing password
strength.

More information is available at the 9.0 documentation page. It can be downloaded now.
