License Change

Oracle To Put Its Stamp on OpenJDK

Jessica Thornsby

Oracle name themselves as copyright holders on OpenJDK licenses.

Mark Reinhold has announced that the legal notices in Sun-copyrighted OpenJDK source files will be updated within the new few weeks.

Affected, will be OpenJDK 6 forest the JDK 7 master forest, and the active integration forests. The HotSpot stabilisation forests, and the source bundles for the jaxp and jax-ws components will also be affected.

However, Mark Reinhold reassures that the licenses themselves will remain the same, and only the copyright holder will change. Related OpenJDK legal documents will be updated in a similar manner, over time.
