Oracle Drop Ruby on Rails From NetBeans, and JBoss Tools 3.2 RC1 Released
JBoss Tools 3.2 RC1 Released
The first release candidate of JBoss Tools 3.2 is out now. This release features Automatic Runtime Detection, meaning that users can now configure a set of directories that JBoss Tools can scan either on new workspaces or at every startup. Maven integration is now supported, enabling CDI automatically whenever the pom.xml file references the CDI api jars. The team have worked on improving the user experience for Deltacloud tools, and the Teiid Instance wizard allows a separate input for host and port, in addition to username and password. Mingle Buddies Up With Go on 3.3 Release
The Mingle Agile Project Management tool from ThoughtWorks Studios has reached version 3.3. With this release, the ALM suite integrates with ThoughtWorks Studios' 'Go' Agile release management solution. Additional MQL functionality and support for Git have been added, and the access control and user management features have been enhanced with a focus on allowing users to manage user groups and project workflows.
Apache CouchDB 1.0.2 Released With Chrome and Safari Support
Version 1.0.2 of Apache CouchDB has been released. Apache CouchDB is a distributed document-oriented database accessible via a RESTful HTTP/JSON API. With 1.0.2 the test suite now works with Safari and Chrome, and the logging of native types is allowed. There is also a list of bug fixes.
Oracle Drop Ruby on Rails Support From NetBeans
Oracle have announced that they have decided to discontinue support for Ruby on Rails in the NetBeans IDE, citing low usage trends for the Ruby on Rails support. Oracle also wish to focus on the upcoming Java SE 7 and JDK 7 releases. In their report, Network World quote an email from Ruby on Rails founder David Heinemeier Hansson, in which he reveals he isn't surprised by this development: "I never came across anyone using NetBeans for Rails. Everyone I talk to uses TextMate, VIM, or Emacs. Full-fledged IDEs are not all that popular in the Rails world." The Ruby on Rails module will be removed from NetBeans IDE 7.0 as of January 27th.
New IntelliJ IDEA 10.0.2 EAP
IntelliJ IDEA 10.0.2 EAP (build 103.14) has been released. This build fixes a bug which could result in lost characters when typing in the editor in a Subversion-managed project, and comes with a new application stub for the MacOS X distribution. Preliminary support is included for storing Subversion credentials in Keychain under MacOS X.
Apache Jackrabbit 2.2.2 Released
Version 2.2.2 of the Apache Jackrabbit content repository has been announced. This release makes version recovery extensible, and fixes four bugs, including an error creating DB2 table for Journaling and a crash that could occur when adding node to cluster with big journal on PSQL DB.
