Nominations for JCP Awards 2012 now open

Chris Mayer
JCP-EC

Vote for the most prominent JCP members, Spec Leads and JSR over the past year.

We do love to see committed Java folk reward for innovation. The
people who shape and guide Java will get the proper recognition
they deserve as the 10th annual Java Community Process Awards are
now open for nominations.

Members of the community across the JCP nominate worthy
participants, Spec Leads, and Java Specification Requests (JSRs),
rewarding their hard work and creativity that helps define the
vision for Java Standard Edition (SE), Java Enterprise Edition
(EE), or Java Micro Edition (ME) platforms. The fact that it is the
the 10th awards ceremony shows you how much the JCP has done for
Java.

Categories include:

  • JCP Member/Participant Of The Year -
recognising the corporate or individual member who has made the
most significant positive impact on the community in the past
    year.
  • Outstanding Spec Lead - recognising the
person who has demonstrated ideal leadership qualities in leading a
JSR for the Java community (Java SE, Java EE or Java ME).
  • Most Significant JSR - simply put the
most game-changing JSR for the Java community (Java SE, Java EE or
Java ME) in the past year.

We’ve already got our nominations in mind, but it’s not down to
us – it’s down to you. Nominations are now open until 16
July 2012 and you can submit nominations to
pmo@jcp.org or use the
form
here. The winners will be
revealed at October’s JavaOne conference, with
the unveiling taking place at the Annual JCP Community
Party held in San Francisco.

There’s also still time to vote in the JAX Innovation Awards too - so
why not do both?
