Sawzall Gets Sizzle

New Open Source Implementation of Sawzall

Jessica Thornsby

New Sawzall implementation designed for interoperation with Hadoop MapReduce and DFS stack.

Following the open sourcing of Sawzall, a new open source
implementation of the programming language is now available for
download. Sizzle is designed for interoperation with Hadoop
MapReduce and DFS stack, and programs produced by Sizzle can run
anywhere a recent Hadoop is installed, even without Sizzle being
installed, thanks to its complete runtime.

Sizzle 0.0 is compatible with the syntax described in the
Sawzall paper.
