New Framework for Building Swing Apps With Grails
The fourth major release of the Rails-like rich internet framework for building swing applications with grails, Griffon is now available to download.
Griffon 0.3.0 sees the framework upgraded to Groovy 1.7.1 and a new Artifact inspection API has been introduced, which gives Griffon the ability to inspect artifacts at runtime and apply meta-programming.
The packaging options for applet and webstart modes have also received updates, and configurable options like events and FactoryBuilderSupport delegates have been added. Native libraries are now supported, which means applications can now bundle platform specific jars and libraries.
Griffon 0.3.0 ships with 5 sample applications of varying levels of complexity demonstrating various parts of the framework.
