Apache Cayenne 3.0

New Embeddable Mapping Artifact

Jessica Thornsby

Apache Cayenne version 3.0. is now available.

Cayenne is a Java object relational mapping (ORM) framework, which allows developers to work only with Java objects abstracted from a database.

This release replaces DataMap DTD with Schema, and adds a new ‘embeddable’ mapping artifact that allows the mapping of composite objects to a single table. Users can now map an ObjAttribute, even if it spans one or more DbRelationships and is mapped to a column of a joined table. Please see the Guide to New Features for more information.

Please note that Cayenne now requires Java 5 or newer to run.
