Rails 2.3.5 and Ruby 1.8.6

Most Commonly Deployed Versions

New Relic have published their periodic summary of the most commonly used versions of Ruby and Rails amongst their customer base.

According to the report, the mostly commonly deployed version of Ruby is 1.8.6 (55.7%,) with 1.8.7 coming in second place (39.5%) The latter has seen an increase in popularity since the last New Relic report, which was published in January.

Meanwhile, the most commonly deployed version of Rails is 2.3.5 (48.5%) with a 35% increase amongst New Relic customers, since January. The Rails 3.0 Betas 1, 2, and 3 are used by almost 2% of New Relic customers.

New Relic plan to issue a report on the Java stacks used by their customers, later this year.
