Maven Support – Coming to Bndtools
Apache UIMA Replaces Original CPM
The Apache UIMA project has announced the release of Apache UIMA AS version 2.3.1. UIMA AS replaces the original Collection Processing Management scaleout in the core UIMA framework. It includes the base UIMA SDK and augments it with scaleout capability. This version upgrades to Apache ActiveMQ 5.4.1 and extends the UIMA AS service JMX API to dump service state. The UIMA AS Primitive Service has been modified to optionally dump JVM stack if the process() method takes too long. More information on the changes is available at the project's JIRA. The sources and binaries can be downloaded from the Apache UIMA website.
Early Release of Maven Support in Bndtools
Neill Bartlett has released an "Alpha" quality pre-release of Maven support for Bndtools. Currently, M2Eclipse is required to enable the Maven support, as M2Eclipse provides the build-time classpath that allows Eclipse to compile the Java sources. Bndtools projects can still be built with Bnd, and users will not be required to adopt Maven in order to use Bndtools. Instructions on how to get the Bndtools Alpha, are available at Bartlett's website.
