Two New jQuery Releases
Last Alpha Release for jQuery Mobile
The jQuery team have announced two new releases: version 1.5.2 of jQuery and jQuery Mobile's fourth alpha release. jQuery 1.5.2 is a bug fix release, which addresses problems with replaceWith throwing errors on non existent elements, and adds a catch block in resolveWith, which means the finally block gets executed in IE7 and IE6. This is the second minor release on top of jQuery 1.5. Meanwhile, jQuery Mobile alpha 4 is the last alpha before the project heads into beta, and adds Windows Phone 7 as a supported platform. It also adds functionality for binding to a set of virtual mouse events, which normalises both touch and mouse events across various mobile platforms. This new feature should distinguish the type of input that is occurring and eliminate any duplicate events. Listviews have been refactored to support the full compliment of form elements, and read-only lists can now display the same content formatting as linked lists.
The team will add support for Blackberry 5 and Nokia/Symbian for the forthcoming beta release.
