Java EE Productivity

JRebel Version 3.0

Jessica Thornsby

JRebel version 3.0 is now available for download.

JRebel is a productivity tool for Java EE development that maps the project workspace to a running application. This means that if you change any class or resource in your IDE, the change should be seen in your application, without the build and redeploy phases.

This version introduces the ability to reload classes, and support for adding static fields and changing enums. Previously, adding a static field to a class would result in a warning in the the console, and an exception when trying to access that field.

JRebel version 3.0 comes with plugins for JBoss, Oracle Weblogic and IBM WebSphere, which support the Local/Remote Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) interface in EJB 1.x, 2.x and 3.x. More information is available at the release announcement.

JRebel Enterprise Add-On has also been released. This supports older or discontinued technologies, including the containers WebSphere 6.0, Weblogic 7.x, 8.x, JBoss 3.x, and Tomcat 4.x.
