Jmx4Perl Alternative Method for Accessing JMX-Based Java JEE Server Interfaces

Jessica Thornsby

HTTP/JSON-based access to JMX MBeans registered within the application server, with Jmx4Perl.

Jmx4Perl 0.71 is out now.

Jmx4Perl provides an alternative method of accessing JMX-based Java JEE Server management interfaces. The Jmx4perl approach involves a small Java Web app deployed on the application server, which provides HTTP/JSON-based access to JMX MBeans registered within the application server.

It contains the Nagios plugin “check_jmx4perl” and comes with a command line tool for remote JMX queries and operations. No Java installation is required on the Nagios host and support for bulk operations is included.

This is primarily a bug fix release.
