JAXawards 2012
JAX Innovation Awards - Winners Revealed!!
After many months of anticipation, the JAX Innovation Awards ceremony finally took place today as part of JAXconf.
The voting polls closed yesterday, but before we reveal who/what has won (if you don’t know already) let us tell you a little about the process.
During the month of March people from across the Java ecosystem were nominating the companies, technologies and people they felt should be rewarded for showing the best innovations in Java. Then during May our expert judging panel had some seriously tough decisions to make in determining the shortlist of finalists in each category. Once this was decided it was then back to the community to vote on their overall winners.
The winner in each category received recognition as best-in-class as determined by their industry peers and the Java community, PLUS a prize of $2,500.
We had one other category to determine – The Special Jury Award. For the last two weeks the Jury members have been debating who deserves to receive this recognition. What made this a difficult process was the fact that the Jury members didn’t have to pick a finalist or even a person/company/technology that had been nominated, as industry experts we wanted them to put forward their own personal opinions. After many discussions/friendly debates they came to a conclusion
So who are the winners…..?
Most Innovative Java Technology – Restructure101
Most Innovative Java Company – JetBrains
Top Java Ambassador – Adam Bien
Special Jury Award – Charlie Nutter
Congratulations to you all!!
We were delighted with the response from the community with thousands of votes received across the 3 categories, thank you to you all for being a part of this. Also a big thank you to the Jury members! Interviews and photos will be available soon.
