JAX Innovation Awards Finalists Announced

The finalists for Most Innovative Java Technology, Most Innovative Java Company and Top Java Ambassador announced.

After much deliberation, the Jury of the JAX Innovation Awards
have whittled the nominations down to five finalists for each
category!

Most Innovative Java Technology – Technologies,
open source projects or commercial products that either improve
today’s technologies, address future challenges, or show the
potential for future significant innovation. The finalists are:

Gradle

JRebel

Neo4j Graph Database

Most Innovative Java Company – This category
focuses on innovative companies and business models that drive
technical innovation, make the Java Ecosystem more powerful, or
leverage the Ecosystem to establish a successful business. The
finalists are:

Atlassian

CloudBees

Red Hat Inc.

Tasktop Technologies

ZeroTurnaround

Top Java Ambassador – Every community needs
rockstars! The winner of this category will be an individual, a
group or an organisation who makes a valuable contribution to
Java’s open culture of communication, or pushes forward innovation
in the Ecosystem. The finalists are:

Martin Odersky

Mike Milinkovich

SouJava

The London Java Community

Now, it’s down to you, the community, to vote for the
Ambassador, Java Company and Technology you feel makes the most
innovative contribution to the Java Ecosystem. Voting is now open,
and will close on 21st June 2011, with a special Award Ceremony
taking place at JAXconf, San Jose, 2011, to honour the winners. The
winner of each category will be awarded $2,500, in addition to
being acknowledged best-in-class by peers spanning the entire Java
Ecosystem. There will also be a Special Jury Award, to be announced
at the Award Ceremony.
