Alarm Your Java Server Apps

jAlarms 1.4 With Central Alarm Cache

Version 1.4 of jAlarms has been announced. jAlarms does exactly what it says on the tin – provides an alarm system for Java server applications. Users receive notifications via feeds such as MSN, SMS, and Twitter, regarding events in their application. With this release, jAlarms gets a central alarm cache, whereas previously each channel managed a cache for determining if an alarm should be resent. There are two default implementations of this cache. One, uses a Map to store the last time each alarm message was sent. The other, uses memcached to store a key for every alarm message sent, with the channel's minimum resend interval as its expiration time.
