HornetQ Version 2.0 Released

jt

HornetQ have announced the release of version 2.0 of their Message Orientated Middleware (MoM)on the open source project’s official blog.

HornetQ is a multi-protocol, embeddable, clustered, asynchronous, enterprise messaging system. HornetQ 2.0 provides a fully JMS 1.1 compliant API, in addition to its own client side API which can be used instead of JMS. HornetQ can be installed as the JMS provider in JBoss Application Server 5.0 or later or, alternatively it can run as a 100% standalone messaging server with no dependencies on JBoss Application Server. It can also be instantiated in your dependency injection framework of choice, such as Spring or Google Guice.

The Java-based community project is currently unsupported, but will soon be released on the JBoss Enterprise Application Platform as a technical preview with limited support. It will eventually be available as part of a Red Hat-supported, JBoss Enterprise Application Platform

RESTful messaging interface, Native STOMP support, and AMQP support is currently planned for HornetQ 2.1, and XMPP and Ajax support is planned for HornetQ 2.2.
