Jessica Thornsby

James Gosling unsure about the fate of non-server side Java.

In an interview with InfoWorld.com on Tuesday, James Gosling stated
that Oracle “is confused about what to do with Java on desktops and
cell phones.”

He expressed a belief that Oracle will do an “excellent job”
with the core JVM for server-side Java, but that he isn’t so sure
about the non-server side of Java.

According to the report, an Oracle representative declined to
respond to Gosling’s comments. Gosling left Oracle on April 2, 2010. Since then, he
has joined the RCDb board of directors.
