Google App Engine SDK 1.5.4 Released for Java
Google App Engine SDK 1.5.4 has been released for Java. This release introduces the ability to limit the blob upload size, and the number of write operations required to store an entity in the SDK dataviewer are now displayed. The SDK also includes an experimental Java version of the Prospective Search API, which allows users to detect and take action on datastore entities that match certain criteria when they are written. MongoDB Database Reaches 2.0
The MongoDB team have released version 2.0 of the MongoDB document-oriented database. This release introduces a compact command for compacting a single collection and its indexes, and the default stack size has been reduced. MongoDB users can now use authentication with sharded clusters. Replica data set members can be tagged to indicate their locations, and these tags can then be used to design custom written rules across specified servers, racks, or other architecture choices. New geospatial features have also been introduced, including support for indexing on documents which have multiple location objects, and support for polygonal $within queries for simple polygon shapes. RC for OpenChrom Eclipse Community Award Winner
A release candidate of OpenChrom 0.5.0 has been announced, with new connectors for OpenOffice and Microsoft Office, and a CSV chromatogram file export/import converter. Backfolding and CODA filters are also included in this preview release. The final release of 0.5.0 is currently scheduled for the end of October.
OpenChrom is an Eclipse RCP-based tool for chromatography and mass spectrometry, and winner of both the EclipseCon 2011 Best Application award, and an Eclipse Community 2011 Technology award.
Second Milestone of Grails 2.0
The second milestone of Grails 2.0 is now available. This milestone adds support for using nested properties in default sorting, and adds domain class auto-complete to create-scaffold-controller. The GSP content-type setting has been improved, and a 'Refresh Dependencies' command is now provided, with the option to download source attachments. There is also a list of bug fixes.
