First Look at Hibernate OGM

The first public alpha release of new Hibernate
project ‘Hibernate Object Grid Mapping‘ (OGM) has been
annouced. Hibernate OGM is a JPA implementation, which aims to
store data in a NoSQL data grid using the Hibernate Core engine.
Currently, Hibernate OGM supports CRUD operations for entities,
embeddable objects, entity hierarchy and optimistic locking. “Most”
Hibernate native APIs and JPA APIs are also supported, alongside
bi-directional associations. Currently planned for future releases
are support for additional NoSQL engines, and support for complex
JP-QL queries, including to-many joins and aggregation.

The code is available from GitHub.
