First Release Of Apache PDFBox

The Apache PDFBox community have announced the first release of their open source Java library for working with PDF documents, Apache PDFBox version 1.0.0. PDFBox allows the creation of new PDF documents, manipulation of existing PDF documents and grants developers the ability to extract content from documents.

Version 1.0.0. upgrades to Java 5 and switches the default build system from Ant to Maven. It also introduces support for page labels and Adobe CFF/Type2 fonts. The PDFBox team have added the ability to read and write unencrypted files. In addition, Maven pom's no longer include source artifacts. See the Release Notes for more details.

The download consists of a single source archive packaged as a zip file, which can be unpacked with the jar tool from your Java Development Kit installation.
