Apache HttpComponents

First Beta Release of HttpCore 4.1

Jessica Thornsby

The Apache HttpComponents project have released HttpComponents HttpCore 4.1-beta1. This is the first BETA release of HttpCore 4.1.

HttpCore are low level HTTP transport components that can be used to build custom client and server side HTTP services. HttpCore supports two input/output (I/O) models: blocking I/O model based on the Java I/O and non-blocking, event-driven I/O model based on Java NIO.

This beta release finalises the API introduced in the 4.1 development branch, introduces a number of bug fixes and updates the blocking HTTP transport components. It fixes Import-Package in the OSGi META-INF, and aims to reduce intermediate data buffering through reading chunks of data directly from the socket stream.

Please see the Release Notes for more information.
