Joseph D. Darcy has announced that improved exception handling with multi-catch and final rethrow will be part of an upcoming JDK 7 build, following a successful experience with a multi-catch implementation developed by langtools team member Maurizio Cimadamore.

Currently, users can apply a changeset to a copy of the JDK 7 langtools repository, in order to create a compiler supporting this new handling with multi-catch and final rethrow feature. Please see Darcy's blog post for more information.
