Ehcache 2.2 Goes GA and Scalatra 1.2.1 Released

Text Editor for JRuby

Redcar 0.3.8.1 is out now.

Redcar is a text editor for JRuby programs, which can use Textmate themes and snippets. This release fixes a few issues with installation on Windows and in Ruby 1.9.1, including updating the xulrunner url to point to an existing distribution.

Scalatra Scala Web Framework

Version 1.2.1 of the Scala web framework Scalatra, is now available. Scalatra is inspired by the open source Sinatra framework. This project was originally named 'Step Framework.' More information is available at the project github.

Oracle Launch Technical Support for NetBeans and OpenSolaris

Oracle have launched technical support packages for products including NetBeans and OpenSolaris Studio. Benefits include unlimited incident support and access to My Oracle Support and other online resources. The support is split into two bundles, 'Oracle Java Development Tools Support' which covers NetBeans, Oracle JDeveloper, and Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse; and 'Oracle Solaris Development Tools Support,' which covers Oracle Solaris Studio, Oracle Solaris Studio Express.

Subscribers receive support for all of the programs included in each bundle, for $1,200 per year, per named user.

Ehcache 2.2 Goes GA

Terracotta have announced the general availability of Ehcache 2.2.

This latest version comes with the capability for storing over a terabyte of data in a single cache, and a new management console which aims to simplify application scale and enhance visibility and control for developers and operators. This release also introduces Java Authentication and Authorisation Service (JAAS) support and customisable support for cache replication between clusters in disparate geographic areas.

JasperReports Gets Spider/Radar Support

JasperReports 3.7.4 is out now.

JasperReports is a Java reporting library that uses XML report templates and data from customisable data sources, to generate documents. This version introduces support for spider/radar chart as a custom component.
